The stories reached the ears and hearts of about 50 people who attended the event. We planed to start the commemoration outside in fruit garden/park located between La Mesa Presbyterian Church and La Mesa Elementary School, but moved the event indoors because of inclement weather.
In between each of the stories, the audience chanted a simple but beautiful piece that local musician David Poole wrote for our first commemoration (see words below), and which we have used for each of our three local World Food Day celebrations.
